My 20+ years in the beauty industry have given me a new outlook on what True Beauty really is. As I continued in my profession and saw younger and younger women quickly moving to success, technology changing and new ways to reach others, I found myself doing a lot of comparing. I thought about who would want to learn beauty skills and tips from me? I was seeing myself aging faster and faster the more I was comparing. I got frustrated that I would never look as cute and young again and spent way too much time feeling stuck and unworthy of a beauty business.
Then about mid lock down (early 2022), I found my superpowers. I was faced with a difficult decision that had me questioning who I was and how I wanted to serve others. It hit me that I am great at what I do, I’m actually passionate about showing midlife women that makeup doesn’t have to be only for the young. It also doesn’t have to be difficult. I teach my clients how to look beautiful AND feel confident at every age and step in their process. I’m passionate when I see someone come to me who is a midlife business woman who has just given up on using makeup because she doesn’t even know where to start and then leaving my session with a new confidence to get out and take the next step in her own business and life!
Beauty is not just adding makeup. Finding your true beauty starts on the inside. As we mature, it’s easy to lose sight of ourselves, we question our value; are we good enough, smart enough, pretty enough. It’s time we stand up and acknowledge our unique perspective and gifts! Once we discover and believe in our own unique beauty, that’s when we can shine and inspire those around us.
Women over 50 have experience, knowledge, and wisdom to share. It’s time we understand the importance of self care, gratitude and not taking ourselves too seriously. We want to look and feel our best but don’t always know how or where to begin. What we used in our 20’s and 30’s isn’t working anymore. Our eyes might have a few more lines, our face might have a few more dark spots. We know we are aging but we are going to go kicking and screaming and celebrating because we have more to do and an impact to leave!
